1. What are some of your favorite sports to watch or participate in? Why do you like these sports?

2. Describe a memorable sporting event or game you’ve attended: Where was this game or event and what kind of sport was it? Were you alone or with other people? Why was it memorable?

3. Do you prefer playing sports competitively or recreationally? Why?

4. How has technology changed the way we experience sports?

5. Share a story about a personal achievement you reached in a sport or recreational activity: When did this happen? What sport or recreational activity was it? Was anybody else involved? Why do you regard it as an achievement?

6. Can you identify any cultural differences in the types of sports and recreational activities people enjoy? Think of four young men or women as examples: One living in Tokyo, Japan; one living in Sao Paolo, Brazil; one living in London, England; and one living in Vancouver, Canada.

18. How important is sport in education and in youth development programs? Should schools allocate more time to physical activity for students (including in senior high school), even if it reduces time in the classroom?
